Okay, so while I was writing my last post I was thinking "I need to get the rest of Traümend!!!" So, I went on Amazon just to see how much it would be ( f.y.i. It'd be like 50$ or so) and guess what? They made a box set of Traümend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ^____^ It's coming out on july 21st!!The only thing is, I already have the last disc, but I think I want to get the box set, because not only does it come in a pretty box and would look so nice next to my season one box (*__*)  but, it's also cheaper then buying the other two discs separately~ Fuwaaaaaaaaaaa!

I just got Regina Spektor's new album "Far" on CD, except I'm not sure which song is which because it's all "Track 01" "Track 02" so I have to listen to the song and then go on iTunes and figure out which sound clip is the song I just listened too. Eh, it's still a nice album though! OH!! Saffy reminded me of a pressing problem: THE RIFFY'S HAVEN'T SEEN ROZEN MAIDEN YET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So,  that must be taken care of A.S.A.P. Me thinks a sleepover is in order.. ;3, Morticia, would you like to re-watch?

Speech-thingys!
Posted on March 19th, 2009 at 8:58 pm by chicagolo

This is a list of speech-things. I don't remember the word!!! You know like, when people say desu or whatever? After all their sentences? Ah well, you know what I am talking about right? (read in intelligent voice from here on out.) These speech-thingy's can instantly make any sentence sound cuter. Think " I really like this picture." sounds to plain? Add any of the following words and TADAA! Doesn't " I really like this picture, *insert cute word*!" sound better? I think so!

  • “I am going to make the house as sparkly and shiny as Tadase-kun, desu~”
  • Desu - This is the one that started it all! Probably. I think it is at least safe to say the most well-known. I would like to say it was Suisei Seki who started this, but I am not sure, I do know that she made "desu" popular. "Desu" is often used with the polite, girly, shy types. "Desu" is basically like "It is" and such, and thus, is simply for the cuteness of the word. If you were to actually use "desu as it is supposed to be used in a conversation, you would not stress the "uu~" part. But as that is the cutest part of desu, characters who say "desu" DO pronounce the "uu~" A few characters who often say "desu" are : Suisei Seki from Rozen Maiden, Suu from Shugo Chara, Miyako Gotokuji (Rolling Bubbles) from Demashita! Powerpuff girls Z.
  •
  • Dechu - A variation of "desu", it is a cuter, more babyish form of "desu". Some characters who say "dechu" are:  Pepe from Shugo Chara and Blanca from Sugar Sugar Rune. (Blanca says this because she is a mouse and "chu" is equal to "squeak" in japanese. So it's sort of a pun. This does not stop her from being really annoying. ((like most characters on that show.)) )
  •
  • Nya - Nya is a rather smart-alecky speech-thing.  Nya is basically "Meow" so it is often used by cats. (Or cat-boys, <3) Some characters who use "Nya" are: Yoru from Shugo Chara and Saffy. (Who isn't an anime character, but says it enough for her to be mentioned. ^__^ かわいい)
  •  “Have a strawberry, nano!”
  • Nano - Nano is only used - to my knowledge- by Hina Ichigo. "Nano" is like "because" which fits with Hina's demanding child character. Not to be confused with "nani" which means "what". I don't think I need to say which characters say "nano" because I have already mentioned the only on I am aware of.
  •
  • Kashira-  Kashira is also only used by one character to my limited knowings of anime, and this is Kanaria, also from Rozen Maiden. It means "Maybe" which kinda mirrors Hina's self-assured "Because" as much as Kanaria irks me, this is a cute thing and adds a slightly space-cadet/spazz air to your words.
  •
  • Boo (Also spelled buu) - I know that this is used rather frequently in some animes but the only one I have seen it in is Sweet Valerian, used by Panda-buu.
  •
  • And this is the end of all the speech-thingy's I can remember! If you can think of any that I have forgotten, comment and yell at me. Err. Inform me.  I hope that this encourages you to use speech-thingy's in everyday conversation!
Ciao creepy people.

  • Hatsune, dawa!
  • “Hey! Servant! I don’t care for leeks!” *Twintail’s slap*
  • ^ Uwwaaaa for Vocaloid/Rozen Maiden crossover!!
  • Okay, so you know that Rozen Maiden key necklace that I got? (^__^) That had that weird charm of people kissing on it? Well, I finally removed the people. Because, the little ring that the key and the people were on had this break in it, so I just forced it open and pulled the people off. Except, now it isn't as tightly closed so I am all paranoid about it. But, when I was taking the charm off, I was pulling at it and then it came off in my hand after about, 5 seconds and I was like "Oh good, that was a lot easier then I thought it would be! And look I didn't have to force it open that mu-UGWAA!" Because, I guess the charm was made of some strange substance because I hadn't pulled off the entire charm. Just the moon, the girl and the guys body. Yes, his head had detached from his body. Because the ring part holding the charm on was on his head. After a bunch more tugging and forcing the ring open I got it off. (Although, I would rather have a severed head then two people kissing on my necklace. At least that sorta has something to do with Rozen Maiden. In a round about way.) But at least it is gone now, though it was so stubborn I kept thinking of how this seemed like it could be a horror movie scenario....0__0 < Eeep!

Traumend voice reviews.
Posted on December 28th, 2008 at 10:30 am by chicagolo

Yes, I have the 3rd DVD of Traumend. So very happy..... Where was I? Oh yes, well I don't have the entire season but, I have the final four episodes which are the most intense and are therefor my favorites. The subtitles are still ugly. But, anyway I am doing a voice review of the characters that appear in Traumend.

  • Bara Suishou - ☆☆☆
  • When I was actually searching for parts where she talks, I realized that she doesn't really talk that much. Oh...her facial expressions are so much more terrifying in non-pixelated form... But, the small amount that she does talk is..ok. Just ok. Nothing fancy. Actually kinda meh.  She doesn't make me want to hide up stairs and put pillows over my ears or anything (Like Suisei Seki. X_x) But, I also have no need to watch the parts where she talks in english, because the Japanese is so much better, (Yes, I know I am incredibly biased, but still! ) her voice is lacking that creepy whispery quality it had. It's still very..um..lifeless and dead sounding. But it's just lifeless and dead sounding. No creepy. No dementia. Just robotic monotone. But, when she does put volume in her voice, it falls apart. In japanese, she seems completely demented and hysterical. In english, she sounds like she is trying to be heard over some noise. No emotion behind it.
  •
  • Laplace ☆☆☆
  • I couldn't find a good picture of him, ah well. I don't like him very much so I don't mind. His voice is better then I thought it would be, but - like Bara Suishou's - it is lacking.  It doesn't have that deep bass, resounding-ness it has in japanese. But, again. Laplace is a creepy rabbit. Creepy rabbits don't get good seiyuu's. I mean, who would want to be a creepy rabbit?
  • Megu - ☆☆1/3
  • Ugwa! I don't understand how hard it is to find someone with a soft voice. Or someone who can make their voice soft.  I suppose you could find her voice soft, but, she sounds like an 8 year old. And Megu is like, in her early 20's. I think. Maybe late teens? Her voice is so annoying and child-like!! Which is most annoying because it removes all the sweetness and sadness in Megu's scenes.
  • Kanaria. ☆☆1/2
  • I already discussed Kanaria's voice, a while ago. But, I have to say, it's not as annoying when it is paired up with Hina Ichigo, whose voice is far more annoying. Add Suisei Seki to the mix and well... you've got yourself the next Super Irritating We-Can't-Sing-To-Save-Our-Lives-And-Yet-We-Are-Popular, pop band.
  • And last, but certainly not least, we have.......Father
  • Well, he kinda sounds like a dad! Albeit a sadistic one. But, not in a good way.. Like, kinda like the 30 something year old man who doesn't have a family and just...collects..dishware..or...The Beegee's merchandise... Or makes dolls~.  I know that doesn't really make any sense. But, his voice is too.. human, kashiraa~? This is a poor example but, it's kinda like if Edward sounded like a normal teenager. You know how he's supposed to have this soft, velvety voice and without the voice he is slightly less...awe-inspiring. I don't know. This is very hard to explain. It's not like I was in love with Father's voice in Japanese or anything. But, Father is like, the Rozen Maiden's God. For some of them, their universes revolve around him. So the guy should have at least a slightly  authoritative voice. Not a "Hello, I'd like to buy this cheesy coffee mug at a discounted price" voice.
  • What no Mii-chan? Wait. Who the heck is Mii-chan? Oh yeah. Kanaria's medium. Well, I don't have a part where she talks enough for me to judge her voice. When I get the rest of the season, I might review her voice. Then again, I don't really want to dedicate a entire post just to her. That would be like, dedicating an entire post to Yaya.
Argh! What to do with the puppet?
Posted on December 10th, 2008 at 9:42 am by chicagolo

You know what is really hard? Trying to translate a Japanese song into English. Especially because the characters have so many meanings and so with like "Mori" it could mean babysitting, forest, harpoon or serving. And also, even with more professional translations, the words are always slightly odd.. Like in the song I'm trying to do, there is this one part that makes sense, but then there is a puppet.  And I don't know where I am supposed to put it. And,  I'm not even sure it means puppet because there is another word on the beginning of the word that means puppet and I can't figure out what it is. One of  the reasons that I got into this rather unusual activity was because I was listening to a song and it said "Hoshizora" which means "Starry sky" (Which I know because that's in the opening of Traumend. ((See anime IS educational!)) ) And I've always kinda wanted to translate a song.  And the song I'm doing is pretty short. And before you start thinking I am crazy insane, I am doing it from Romaji, not Kanji. (But, you know the original characters might be easier.)

Japanese street fashion – Rozen Maiden style!
Posted on December 4th, 2008 at 10:16 am by chicagolo

Street Fashion!! ^_~ *click on it to see it bigger~*Uwaa~ Someone street-ified the seven sisters~ Shinku is my favorite, (surprise~) She looks fawesome possum!  I like Sugi-sama, but I wish she didn't have that feathered head-dress thing. On second thought though I kinda like how it ties in with her wings..^_^ Hina Ichigo is kawaiiiiiiiiiiiii! I love her tattoo and the beat-up Kunkun.  Suisei Seki looks like a girl trying to make a nun look cool. t_t Sousei Seki looks chilleh though. But I can see why P-P gave her shorts instead of a skirt (Apart from her personality and "boku" stuff) I mean, if she wore a skirt with her outfit, she would look like a school-girl. Which would be cute but not as Vicky. Kanaria could be more FrUit-sy though. I mean her costume already has the elements. But they kinda toned her down. Which is fine I guess, as I don't really care for looking at her face.  Oh, Rozen Maiden~  It is too bad that now, like Shugo Chara!, you will always make me feel a twinge of Ugwa. Except, as I am used to Shugo Chara's twinge, the RM twinge is more like a wrestler twisting my intestines. But, I will carry on!!!
